Village Dream Pillow Unit — Fall 2006

Like all Kindermusik Village units, the Dream Pillow unit is written with the parent very much in mind. But the baby is the star in Dream Pillow, with each activity carefully planned to stimulate the developing brain and promote physical, social, cognitive, emotional and language development. In this unit, it is the parent who is watching and guiding the little star on the rise. Enjoy "Skinnamarink" and many other of your own favorite childhood songs!

 


THE "OUR TIME" PROGRAM FOR CHILDREN 18 MONTHS TO 3 1/2 YEARS

The Kindermusik Our Time program is designed for children 18 months to 3 1/2 years of age who meet weekly for 45-minute classes and enjoy singing, moving, listening and interacting socially, as well as playing simple instruments along with an accompanying parent or caregiver. During the Our Time program parents and children enjoy bonding and interacting socially with others.

"Exploration Time" encourages a child's discovery of specially designed instruments, textures, sounds and movements. Language skills are fostered with singing, sound imitation, and vocal play.

"Music and Movement Story Time" encourages your child's emergent literacy skills. The development of pitch and rhythm promotes musicality, and creative dancing and expressive movement affirm a child's urge to move.

Our Time Milk and Cookies Unit — Fall 2006

In this imaginative Kindermusik program, home activities such as baking cookies, eating cupcakes, blowing on hot cross buns, wiggling like jelly, going grocery shopping, and making tea are all represented in familiar clasroom songs and activities! Milk and Cookies empowers the parent to lead the child through familiar, everyday home activities such as cooking, dusting and washing clothes.

 


THE IMAGINE THAT! PROGRAM FOR CHILDREN 3 1/2 TO 5 YEARS

The Kindermusik Imagine That! program is designed for children 3 1/2 to 5 years of age who meet for 45 minutes each week for 15 sessions. Parents and caregivers join in for the last 15 minutes of class, appropriately called "Sharing Time." Imagine That! "Sharing Time" provides you with an opportunity like no other...a chance to watch your child's musical growth and development unfold right before your eyes.

At an age when a child's imagination is soaring, every experience becomes an opportunity for self-discovery and learning. The Kindermusik Imagine That! program provides an extraordinary musical atmosphere. Pretend play activities are integrated with exceptional music, vocal development, storytelling, movement activities and literature as building blocks, with a caring and observant licensed educator as your guide.

Kindermusik's Imagine That! program benefits you and your child by:

• Developing expressive and receptive language skills through love for stories, rhymes and word plays.

Hello Weather, Let's Play Together Unit — Fall 2006

In the Hello Weather, Let's Play Together! unit, children and families enjoy music and special times together in all types of weather! Children will explore the connected, smooth sounds of legato musical passages and the separated sounds of staccato beats. They'll learn about fast and slow tempos. Adding to the thrill are at home projects such as making wind chimes, rain hats, sleigh bells and snow boots! The Hello Weather, Let's Play Together! unit gives plenty of reasons for Kindermusik families to turn off the television, turn on the music, and welcome the wind, snow, sun, and rain into their days together!
 


THE "FAMILY TIME" PROGRAM FOR NEWBORNS TO 7 YEARS

Kindermusik Family Time is designed for families with multiple children ages newborn to 7 years. In ten weeks, you'll play instruments together, dance together, share, and take turns, and see how music can bring you closer as a family.

Your children will listen to instruments and to each other, learn from their peers and older children, and enjoy music and movement with hoops, scarves and tumble-around play. Story time and family jams, puppet play and happy singing - all the Family Time activities encourage discovery and exploration and foster sharing and social skills too. In this special place for musical, social and emotional learning, your children will strengthen their ties with each other and with you - and they'll start developing the skills they'll need in school and on the neighborhood playground.

Each family receives a set of At Home Materials designed to integrate the classroom learning experience with the fun, Friday night activities you do together as a family.
